About me:
As a creative in a family of creatives, I know how frustrating
it is to make the impact you want with your creative work and be able to pay the bills.
I grew up with a coffee table in the family room full of paint tubes, brushes of all varieties, and an ever-present project of my mom’s on the easel. I’d pass my mom’s ceramic kiln in the garage when I’d go out to ride my bike. I’d watch the Happy Painter with her on PBS instead of Sesame Street – oh, not Bob Ross but his mentor, Bill Alexander, who came first with The Magic of Oil Painting show. Bill would explain his wet-on-wet process in his thick German accent while gleefully stroking happy trees on the canvas.
My mom would lug paintings to area consignment shops. She’d enter juried shows and do commissioned pieces. Her art has been in prestigious shows in Chicago, and she has had her own shows locally. Her art is good, really good!
And still, the sale of her art alone has never earned her the income it deserved.
I decided to go the writing route for my first career, and I do a lot of art as well. I’m a published author with a book having sold over 30,000 copies so far as well as having 10 years of consistent magazine article publication. I know what it’s like to feel forced into signing away all rights and agree to low payment to get exposure.
All three of my sons are artists – one musical, another an architect, and a third who does experiential art and digital art along with metal working and watercolors.
I connect deeply with the creative spirit. As creatives, we make exceptional course creators, ready to share powerful messages, create meaningful impact, and revel in the joy of inviting others into our artistic visions.
That’s why I leveraged my decades of experience as a course design expert with a master’s degree in Instructional Design to create my own, easy-to-follow framework.
I know that while there is a vast set of knowledge behind quality course design, it doesn’t have to be complex to implement. It can be distilled down to 5 steps.
It’s so straightforward, I have a free 15-minute course that covers the entire 5-step framework. I encourage you to check it out.
Yes, you can take this framework and run with it on your own.
What I also know about creatives is that we tend to get more easily overwhelmed. So, when you need more guidance, I’m here. Schedule a free, 20-minute consultation with me now.
